Bombshell Heading toward Michelle Obama tommorrow?

I know this is a poor source, but Fox News and on Fox and Friends is reporting that a letter or a tape of Michelle Obama will be released with something so astonishing that it will change the election. Bob Beckel said the Republicans are prepared to release "something" tommorrow after Hillary suspends her campaign?

Does anybody, anybody know anything about this? I do not want the Democrats to be embarassed!!

If you know anything, please post.

Most speculation is that it's bunk (none / 0)

If they actually had it, they'd have played it by now.

Most people I've heard from think that they probably doctored a tape of her asking questions about Bush, "Why'd he take us to Iraq" to sound like it's saying "Whitey take us to Iraq?"

It'll be guaranteed spectacle for a day or two until it's completely debunked.

Well the rumour is... (none / 0)

is that there is a tape of Michelle sitting at panel with Louis Farrakan ranting at "whities". This rumor has been out there for weeks. Lots of people have been saying the tape is a hoax and a fake.

My take is that the tape probably exist, not because of anything Larry Johnson says over at noquarterusa, but mainly because of the screaming silence from the Obamas. The rumor has been on the TV and the net and spreading and still no denial from either Obamas. So I figure there's probably something there. But, how bad...we'll see.

I do know that if this tape is actually true.... anything with Louis Farrakan, his brand of radicalism, is like pouring gasoline in fire. If Michelle is really on tape with Farrakan, they have a HUGE problem. Enormous even.

Why denounce something unless you know first which something it is?  Heck there could be dozens of times when Michelle said something she wouldn't want on the nightly news.

But ultimately, Michelle isn't running for president, Barack is.  I don't see how anything she said does more than rate one disgusting news cycle.  I don't see how it's 'explosive' unless she was advocating placing explosives or killing someone.

Probably it's the bogus whities tape.  In which case these days, she was discussing underwear, because who the heck uses the word whitie any more?  Even an old lady like me wouldn't use the word.

When there's something tangible to discuss, then you craft your response.

If they have something, they will release it now, not November.  Disqualifying the Democratic nominee before the actual convention will humiliate all Democrats in all races.  Being forced to nominate someone else at the convention after the people have already spoken will make for a somber, joyless meeting in Denver that will portray us as a mortally wounded party scrambling to save our lives.  This would effect all races at all levels.

Agreed, it's patent bullshit, almost child-like in the tone with which its been spread. Larry Johnson's breathless promises that he'll have an "update" in the morning, and the "update" is just a rehash of the previous post, should give people some pause as to the veracity of these claims.

The fact that its being spread here without remorse is saddening. I've been posting here since 2004, but my last account was banned for calling these people what they are, virulent racists. Its one more step in the gutter for what was once a very proud progressive blog.

Seems like a year ago, but I guess it was just a couple of months ago, we had five diaries a day at the top of the wreck list by Larry Johnson's blogging partner (I gather that's where she's gone) assuring us that a BOMBSHELL that would END OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN was going to be revealed by the Reszko trial.

and ten years ago, Bob Novak and Bill Safire would trade-off publishing a column about "High-ranking, non-partisan, unimpeachable Justice Department sources have told this column that First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will be indicted, perhaps as soon as next week. 'It's not a matter of 'if', but 'when'', a career official who has served under Republican and Democratic administrations assured us."

I can't wait for all of the rich white kids who voted for Obama to wake up and realize that they now "owe" black people something. That they should give up their I-Pods, cell phones and fancy clothes because their ancestors have inherited their place in life at the expense of slaves. These college students have no idea what they are doing. HOPE! CHANGE! They were swept up in all this hype and now the facts are coming out

   Comment by James | 2008-05-29 12:35:22

I know what you mean when you say you "can't wait" but you shouldn't even joke. I don't want to see our children with chains on them being marched to Africa to be sold as slaves.

   Comment by Chaos | 2008-05-29 12:21:18

And if you think the proud white race is going to be enslaved, think again.

   Comment by Mr X | 2008-05-29 11:22:13

The change that Obama talks about is the liberation of blacks at the expense of white people. All those white people that voted for him are in for a rude awakening when they realise that "change" is all about the removal of white power into the hands of blacks. This is the new coalition you've been hearing about. They are not interested in equality.

You have to wonder how you can hate on white people and not be a racist. For 20 years, there's no way anyone could have stayed in that church unless they're ok with racism and are themself racist.

Frankly, it explains where all the hate comes from in the Obama campaign. I'm from a minority (not black) and we had to stop blaming the majority for all our problems. It made things MUCH worse. Once we started addressing issues without resorting to putting people in groups and saying those groups were to blame, things started improving. But from the looks of it, things are about to get MUCH MUCH worse for the US. Obama can't stop himself from classifying people.

Bunch of very sick stuff. Unfortunately so many on the far left agree with these hateful pastors and think we should hand Obama the WH because he is black. I've said all along, these people do not want equality any more than the evangelical christians. They want DOMINANCE. They do not want a democracy-they want a black Tyranny.

Black Liberation is an ancient religion. It goes all the way back to ancient Babylon, it is the same "Mystery Religion" spoken of in the book of Revelation as "Mystery Babylon the great, the Mother of Harlots and the abomination of the earth".

The new standards of racism (2.00 / 1)

if it's pro-Clinton and anti-Obama it's racist.

I updated a comment once that called Obama's pastor a "black bigot". OK, he was a bigot who happened to be black. Now they go around saying that's proof that I am a racist.

And how was reverend wright a bigot?

He was crazy and unkept like most people nuts enough to dedicate their life to religion.

Please proceed?

How about this (1.00 / 0)

you find the sources that prove Larry Johnson used white supremacist sources and then I'll lift a finger for you.

If you don't support Obama you a racist.  You have to be.  There is absolutely no other reason you could possibly oppose his elevation from political novice to the highest office on the planet except blatant racism.

As is counting your 8 years of First Lady as "experience" or being voted to the Senate with no legislative experience based on your husband's name.

OUCH!!!!

Bob Beckel is pretty pro-Obama (1.00 / 0)

That's surprising. I expect the tape to be underwhelming.

Like Obama "scratching his face" with his middle finger talking about Hillary, there could be just enough wiggle room that some will hear her railing on "whitey" and others asking "why'd he?"

by catfish2 on Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 12:05:25 PM EST

Re: Bob Beckel is pretty pro-Obama (none / 0)

Will we have to put the same amount of mayonnaise under the tinfoil to hear "whitey" as we did to see "flipping off" in the infamous scratcher video?

If there was a tape... (none / 0)

...the HRC campaign (who are masters of oppo research)would have produced it a while back.  Starting rumors on the eve Obama's cinching the nominiation sound like just a ruse to break the momentum he will get tonight.

nothing to see here, move along

Re: If there was a tape... (none / 0)

That makes no sense. If the Clinton campaign had a video, IMO it would have been released a couple of months ago, not now.

It actually makes more sense for Republicans to release a video now in order to make the Democratic party look inadequate.

Re: If there was a tape... (none / 0)

Correct,  if there was a Tape, the Clinton Campaign would have gotten there first (GOP is a step behind these days) and would have used it in the primary.  If the GOP had it they would have used it a week or so ago to prolong the primary.  Sounds too Rovian to be true

Tomorrow!  No, the next day!  Well, maybe the day after that.  COME ON PEOPLE.  Don't get played for suckers, there is no tape.

Re: Bombshell Heading toward Michelle Obama tommor (none / 0)

I somewhat doubt that's true, there was no advance hype for that story.

Look, if you want to believe in this, more power to you, but I wonder how long you're willing to be strung along.  Maybe we should bet on whether the tape exists, you could make some easy money off me.

It's not at all difficult for me to believe this; in fact it's easy for me to believe. The rhetoric that comes out of Trinity seems to be pretty consistant so far.

Anyone can start a rumor. (none / 0)

So far, it's been all talk and no substance.  I'll believe it when I see it.  I imagine it'll be a hodge-podge of Michelle's appearances, kind of like a ransom note using magazine clippings.

Ridiculous (none / 0)

Who honestly believes that an Ivy League educated woman, with a White mother-in-law, half white husband, and quarter white children would say something so ignorant?
Unless, of course, it's someone with such a generally low opinion of Black people, that they assume any rumor that suggests all Black people are  the same as in the inner city, MUST be true (i.e. a racist).

It's just stupid fear-mongering.  If there's anything to be found, the Clinton campaign would have found it.  They're actually better than the Republican party

Re: It's stupid fear-mongering (none / 0)

You got that right.  McCain had an opportunity to make hay while the primary season dragged on and he did NOTHING!  Once the GE starts he will be slipping behind more and more.
